The Role of the Employers' Chamber of Commerce Central
The Employers Chamber of Commerce Central (ECCC) is one of two organisations created with the merger of the Wellington Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Employers and Manufacturers Association Central.
The organisation covers a territory extending from New Plymouth to Gisborne in the North and down to Wellington and Nelson in the South.
The ECCC is affiliated to both New Zealand Chambers of Commerce and Business New Zealand.
The Wellington presence of the ECCC is the Wellington Employers Chamber of Commerce.
ECCC members in Wellington city receive delivery of the full range of membership services from the WECC.
The ECCC also runs branches in Palmerston North, Napier, New Plymouth and offers its employment law and human resources advisory services through these branches.
It works closely with Chambers of Commerce in the region and is presently negotiating with these Chambers on the exact nature of this relationship. Some have indicated that they wish to integrate with the ECCC in the same way as the Wellington Chamber of Commerce.
