ECCC Board
The ECCC Board is made up of the following people:
John Johnston – President
John has held a number of roles with Westpac, and currently heads up the bank's government relations. Prior to joining the bank, he held policy roles in the public service.
A committed Wellingtonian, John has significant experience in advocacy, and a strong desire to support the business community's interests. Prior to becoming President, John was a member on the ECCC Board, Wellington Employers Chamber of Commerce Board, and EMA Central Council.
Don Campbell – Director
Don Campbell is a board member for the Employers' Chamber of Commerce Central (ECCC).
Clare Hadley – Director
Clare Hadley is a board member for the Employers' Chamber of Commerce Central (ECCC).
Peter McKee – Director
Peter McKee is a board member for the Employers' Chamber of Commerce Central (ECCC).
Vaughan Renner – Director
Vaughan has had an executive career spanning twenty years that has included senior leadership and general management positions.
He is a board member of The Standards Council of New Zealand, Weltec (Wellington Institute of Technology), Cairns Group Ltd., The Employers Chamber of Commerce Central and Business New Zealand. Vaughan is chair of the Risk and Audit Committees at Weltec and the Employers Chamber of Commerce.He is a member of the Institute of Directors and has previously served on a number of other Boards and Government advisory panels.
From 1998 - 2004 he was the CEO of South Pacific Tyres, New Zealand’s largest tyre company, with 1,200 employees and sales approaching $200 million per annum. Previously he held general management roles in engineering, IT and sales and marketing. Prior to becoming CEO he held a strategic development position with SPT Australia, based in Melbourne.
He holds an MBA from Massey University, and a BE Hons (Chemical) and a BSc (Chemistry) from the University of Canterbury.
Norrey Simmons – Director
Norrey Simmons has been a communications professional for most of her career, and took on additional governance work in 2000 when she was appointed to the board of the then Employers and Manufacturers (Central) Association (EMA). Shortly thereafter she became a founding councillor on Business New Zealand’s Council until December 2010. She was an EMA representative on the committee that led to the merger of the Wellington Regional Chamber of Commerce and the EMA into the ECCC.
Norrey was the principal of Four Winds Communications, a leading PR and lobby agency in Wellington for many years. She is a Life Member and Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of New Zealand, and is also a board member of the Kapiti Retirement Trust which operates the Sevenoaks and Midlands retirement villages on the Kapiti Coast.
Norrey is a member of the Institute of Directors (IOD), and is provisionally accredited as a company director by the IOD.
Richard Stone – Director
During his more than 25 years of experience in the human resources consulting industry, Richard has been a founder, shareholder and senior consultant in several leading industry entities. His primary consulting focus has been on the appointment of Chief Executives and non-executive directors both within the public, private and NGO sectors.
Richard’s comprehensive knowledge of the New Zealand business environment and the challenges which it faces, along with his formidable networks developed over 25 years, allows him the ability to work intimately with clients in meeting their needs.
Richard is a Director of the Employers' Chamber of Commerce Central, Grow Wellington and Workbridge, and a former Chair of Unicef and President of the Wellington Employers' Chamber of Commerce.
